Rina Banerjee
Rina Banerjee received her training in painting and printmaking at Yale School of Art, Yale University where she acquired her MFA degree. Recently she exhibited at MASS MOCA, North Adams by commission, The Whitney @ Phillip Morris 2002, and the Whitney Biennial 2000. She has received awards and recognition from Skowhegan School of Painting scholarship, and has been nominated for Rema Foundation, Joan Mitchell, and Bucksbaum awards.
She is presently a NYFA advisor and her work can be seen in several academic texts: '20th Century American Art', a 'Penguin World Art Series' edited by Erica Doss (2002), 'Art Practice as Research: Studio Inquiry in Visual Arts' is a new text written by Graeme Sullivan to be released by SAGE Publication in January. Her work can be viewed in over a dozen catalogs including: "OPEN!" (pub. by BAM), 'Whitney Biennial 2000', 'Out of India' (pub. by QMA), 'Greater New York Exhibition' at PS1Moma (2005). She has exhibited internationally work in South Africa, Spain, India, Italy, and Switzerland.
