Adel Abidin
Adel Abindin is an artist and filmmaker. He was born in Baghdad in 1973, and currently lives and works in Helsinki, Finland where he received his MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts. He started as a painter, but more recently began concentrating on media-based art, primarily videos, video installations and short films. In his art practice, he focuses on issues such as cultural alienation and marginalization. Humor and irony are central to his language.
