Marie Maciak

Maria Maciak graduated in 1989 from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She worked as a producer and editor of documentaries and children's films at Phoenix Films and Video. She continued her production experience in advertising at CHARLEX Inc. and Tom Pomposello Productions. Maria produced and directed location shoots for King World Productions daily broadcasts of the talk show "Rolonda." She edited documentary projects for Bravo Televison, Polish Television and BBC. Maria curated numerous human rights screenings and festivals in collaboration with the Office of Tibet, Anthology Film Archives as well as Human Rights Watch. In 1997, Maria Maciak co-founded the Media Studies program at the Ross School where she mentors documentary workshops, digital fiction filmmaking and thesis video productions. Alongside teaching and mentoring, she continues to create her own videos and installations.
