Michael Goorjian
Born in Oakland, California, writer/director/actor Michael Goorjian is a founding partner of Lyceum Films. Having established himself as an actor of great diversity with roles such as, his EMMY AWARD-WINNING performance as a young autistic boy in 1994’s David’s Mother, Michael has devoted 4 years of his life to directing his first major independent film, Illusion, starring Kirk Douglas. Goorjian also wrote and directed the feature Oakland Underground , the short films: Liber Nox, Ron, and Call Waiting (winner best short film at the Arizona Film Festival, 1999). For Lyceum Films, Michael directed Players’ Club (which swept the 2006 Elevate Film Festival in Los Angeles, including best director), 5 Wishes, and The War Prayer (which just completed principle photography in the San Francisco Bay Area).
Best known to television audiences for his role in the hit series Party of Five, Michael’s other acting credits include starring roles in Sony Classic's SLC Punk!, The Invisibles (both Sundance award winners), the Oscar nominated Leaving Las Vegas, Hard Rain (with Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater), Chaplin (with Robert Downey Jr.), and Forever Young (with Mel Gibson).
