In 2004 Taysir Batniji photographed his journey to the Gaza Strip. The work Transit presents these images and reflects on the extremely difficult conditions under which Palestinians must travel. In Batniji's words: Transit is a part of a series of works which began in 1997 around the idea of displacement : paintings, installations, videos, ... which question and re-question the limits in which I live and with which I am permanently confronted as man, artist and Palestinian.
